Tasting Comments
A dark purple colour with a lively rim: on the nose, a distinctly hightone fresh berry aroma; the excellent natural acidity on the palate gives the Port a fine and intensely juicy flavour;
an outstandingly elegant Single Quinta Vintage port
Sourcing
The old vineyard and the ' Talhão l ' vineyard at Quinta da Gricha.
Grape Varieties
A field blend from the old vineyards (av Age 40-50 years old) that include grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Francisca. The Talhao I vineyard is 25 years old and is a 50/50 blend of the Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz grape varieties.
Vinification
All our ports are made in 'Lagares' or traditional granite treading tanks. This is our preferred choice of vinification for Port. Although more costly, we believe it is still the most effective maceration process for making top quality Vintage port.
We have treading teams working through the day and up to 10pm each evening.
